Design at GROHE goes beyond aesthetics. It is about creating products that fuse great design with the latest technology and the highest-quality materials to deliver a range of exciting user experiences.

It is about realizing complete solutions for the bathroom and kitchen that will enhance all styles of interior and meet the needs of different cultures and nationalities. It is about creating visually enticing pieces that will not date and water-saving solutions that don’t compromise sensory gratification. Above all, GROHE design is about creating unique products, which enable the end-user to Enjoy Water.

Continuity, specialist knowledge and a commitment to the GROHE brand values. These are just some of the benefits that an in-house design team brings.

Under the direction of Paul Flowers, Vice President Design, an international team of 13 is dedicated to producing the best designs in the sanitary industry. They are fully involved throughout the development lifecycle of a new product and can pick-up where they left off if a product range is expanded at a later date.

The purpose-built design studio is located on the lower ground floor of GROHE headquarters in Düsseldorf. The light and airy building, designed by Richard Maier & Partners, is an inspirational environment conducive to creating world-class designs.

The design team benefits from daily contact with research and development, production and marketing departments. This facilitates an on-going dialogue, which helps maintain continuity and generates ideas for new products.

GROHE design has a unique place in the company. Top-level support from the C.E.O., David Haines, has enabled the team to develop innovative and groundbreaking products such as GROHE Ondus® and GROHE Ondus® Digitecture. Both of which have been bestowed with the prestigious red dot “best of the best award.”

A recent interview conducted by Metropolis magazine with Paul Flowers and David Haines explains the evolution of the importance of design at GROHE in recent years.
