A fireworks of visions will fascinate people from all over the world in Shanghai during the next six months. Some of the brilliant innovations presented at Expo 2010 come courtesy of GROHE. Themed “Better city, Better life“, more than 240 countries and international organisations exhibit their ideas, concepts and visions of future city life - with over 50% of the world population already living in cities, the motto could not be more fitting.

The Expo site coves an area of 5,750 square kilometres.
Scientific and technical innovations play an important role at the World Exposition, which is expected to attract 70 million visitors. The German interpretation of the topic is called “balancity – A City in Balance“. The 5,000+ square metre pavilion simulates a journey through a “city of ideas”. From the harbour and the park to the factory and the Energy Source, the themes symbolise the balance between innovation and tradition. GROHE is the official partner to the German Pavilion, which features numerous new GROHE products. Manufactured in Germany, our products make an important contribution to this display of innovations.

Technical attractions await the visitor not only in the exhibition area. In the washrooms of the VIP Lounge, GROHE Ondus® Digitecture faucets make for a futuristic water experience. They combine state-of-the-art digital technology and architecture - a “balance” in keeping with the motto of the German Pavilion. Designed to encourage intuitive operation, the matching GROHE Ondus® Aquafountain high-end shower system establishes a link with the general principle of the World Expo in that it offers comfort for a “better life”.
The 450 or so staff of the German Pavilion will appreciate the forward-looking concept of the GROHE Concetto faucet line, whose slightly addicted body makes it especially convenient to use. The integrated GROHE SilkMove® uses Carbodur-coated headparts - a space-proven technology, which ensures that smooth operation will be guaranteed far beyond the duration of the exhibition.
GROHE faucets make their mark also in the administrative areas, where the minimalist design of the GROHE Essence single-lever mixers makes a stylish yet discreet statement.
In the kitchen of the German restaurant, functionality and performance are just as important as a tasteful look. The touch-free infrared operation of the new electronic version of GROHE Essence is the most important ingredient that ensures maximum hygiene.
In the sanitary facilities, the planners of the German Pavilion attached great importance to flexibility. The easy-to-install GROHE Rapid SL systems ensure that everything runs smoothly even in the “smallest rooms” of the World Expo, with the stylish GROHE Nova and Ondus® cover plates adding a modern touch. What is more, the GROHE EcoJoy® technology makes them especially water-efficient and eco-friendly, allowing them to make an important contribution to a “better city” and a “better life”.
